#40 GLORIOUS GOODWOOD
A brilliant way to end this trip. The QIPCO Sussex Stakes, a Group One race at the Goodwood festival.
This marked the first meeting of Canford Cliffs (ridden by Richard Hughes, trained by Richard Hannon)
and Frankel (ridden by Tom Queally, trained by Henry Cecil).
Dubbed 'the Duel of the Downs'.
I am still very much a novice in the racing world, but I have learnt enough to know these are BIG names,
and probably the top flat race horses, at this time.
And if you watched the race, you can see why. Frankel moves with pure beauty.
Out of the 6 races in my £2 place pot, I picked 2 winners, 2 more placed 2nd, and one began the race as favourite.
Shows I must have learned something!!
Needless to say, the favourite came in 17th and meant no winnings for me.
Still.... it's been fun.
#39 Beach life in British summer time.
Coolish weather but great for cycling. It's our final week!

#38 Ascot
Family Fun Day. Great day to choose to visit as it was almost access all areas.
Beautiful modern stadium and, apart from the boxes upstairs, we could wander at will.
A useful little trixie (type of accumulator) ended the day with a smile.
